I miss the little light that used to indicate the Mac was sleeping. I had no idea of the level of detail that went into it:
The animation was designed to mimic human breathing at 12 breaths per minute, and feel comforting and soothing.
I understand why it’s gone — we assume our devices are always on, there’s no need to indicate standby mode anymore — but it was the kind of nice little detail that set Apple apart, and made it more human. Everything looks so serious now.
